I have no legal training, and admit at the point of starting to write this section, having now already put together some of the other sections and read a few books on the topic that its still a foreign language to me. Hopefully as I research and document each part for this site and get the practical experience of actually doing it, I should gain some more expertise. Therefore as I share my experience with you, and let you in on some other information I have had from others, you should take it as the help and experience of a friend, rather than a person who is selling their expertise.
What I am saying as clearly as I am able is that you cannot take what I write as legal advice, all you can take it as, is a pointer in the direction of information you should check out yourself. Things may change, the situation in each case will be different, and the competence of those you come against will vary. Likewise your own skill may be superior or poorer than mine.
I must stress therefore that I am not accepting any responsibility for anything that you may choose to do.
Many people will having looked at everything, and being a bit more informed choose to use a solicitor, and this should remain an open option up to the point you actually start a DIY case. It is not a failure to choose to use a professional who should know the situation far better than you. There is a lot of difference between being a back sear driver in a legal case, pointing out information and progressing actions and taking the driving seat yourself.
